Campisi's to Open in Fort Worth

A slice of Dallas pizza history is coming to Fort Worth

A slice of Dallas pizza history is coming to Fort Worth.

Campisi's, the family-owned Dallas pizza chain, will open a new Fort Worth location on Camp Bowie this November.

The new 5,000 square foot restaurant will be situated at 6150 Camp Bowie Blvd.

Owner David Campisi told DFW.com that he wanted the new Fort Worth location to be in an "established neighborhood."

“We don’t want to come over and be in with a lot of restaurants from Dallas. We want to be part of a Fort Worth neighborhood," Campisi said.

Started in 1946, the chain is as famous for it's connection with Jack Ruby as it is for the pies.

Campisi told us that their famed oblong pizzas were introduced by accident all the way back when the first location was established in Dallas.

Campisi's has multiple locations in Dallas, Frisco, Plano, and Rockwall, but the new spot will be their first in Fort Worth.
