4 New Dallas Eateries Make Texas Monthly List

Our February issue of Texas Monthly just arrived with some bona fide news to us: four Dallas eateries made the magazine's Top 10 best new restaurants of the year, and none of them were spots we'd stumbled upon.

The "Where to Eat Now 2009" spread gave Rise No. 1 an honorable mention -- we'd just digested that rich soufflé we told you about on Monday -- but the premiere honorees were gems undiscovered on our part. Surely some of you are hip to:

Bolla, the contemporary Italian palace inside the Stoneleigh Hotel with Iron Chef-challenger David Bull at the helm?

Dali Wine Bar and Restaurant, nestled in the urban hearth of the Arts District with mascarpone cheesecake on the menu?

Tei-An, a Japanese soba noodle house with mix-and-match sauces and dishes under $10?

Or Charlie Palmer at the Joule and its quirky menu, touting mini lobster corn dogs, of all treats? (We'd heard of that one, for wine ...)

That Texas Monthly, always filling our dinner card.
