Fashionable Fun Blogs to Follow

Want to know who we're following among the most fashionable and fun blogs in Dallas? We thought we'd take the opportunity to highlight a few of our favorite local blogs whose web-based banter keeps us coming back for more. Let the blog roll begin.

Buttoned & Sewn. The very young and very sartorially sensible Travis McHenry writes a seriously compelling blog. Part lifestyle and part fashion, McHenry's affinity for menswear comes through in his blog content, but it's his profiles on talented artists and quirky music and video choices that keep us clicking through his site.
Favorite post this month: his interview with Bradley Roberts, a blogger in his own right and a barber by trade. Twitter handle: @travosauruswrx.

Hilltop Glossy. Once an SMU-specific website (the founders are both grads), the Glossy has expanded their on-the-street style coverage beyond the leafy University Park campus. But, really, when you're able to shoot pictures that gorgeous and captivating, who cares where you spot your subjects? Husband and wife team Kristi and Scot Redman are redefining what it means to create magical pictures one post at a time.
Favorite post this month: We love the simple shot they used for "Summer Drive," which was posted in late June. Twitter handle: @hilltopglossy.

V.O.D. Blog. Obviously, the blog is specific to the chic Victory Park shop owned by Jackie Bolin and Liz Thompson, but we adore the uber-clean format and straightforward presentation of their online presence. Plus, it makes reviewing their latest arrivals from cool collections like Raquel Allegra and Isabel Marant easier than ever, not to mention the blog is like getting an instant fashion editor's perspective.
Favorite post this month: their recent piece on the Resort 2012 collections, especially the yellow Jenni Kayne dress featured near the bottom of the post; Resort will arrive at V.O.D. around October. Twitter handle: @vodboutique.

Texas Style and Substance. Penned by Kristie Ramirez, a veteran editor and writer for the likes of FD Luxe, Texas Monthly, and various Conde Nast publications, we love the diverse content that highlights the very, very best design talent from around the state. Featuring restaurants, fashion, music, and more on one blog can be tough to accomplish gracefully, but Ramirez does so beautifully and with style and substance, of course.
Favorite post this month: her highlight of San Antonio's Ocho restaurant and bar, located in Hotel Havana. Twitter handle: none, bummer.

Quintessentially Korshak. The famous Dallas store only recently launched their blog, and we think they do a particularly great job when highlighting their men's shop, an often ignored element of the fashion realm. We also love the very real, mostly candid pictures they feature. However, we do wish they'd post even more often, but we understand, since we're usually at a loss for words too when surrounded by all of their haute couture offerings.
Favorite post this month: though it's technically from June, we adored their piece on "The Bowtie King," Edward Armah. Twitter handle: @stanleykorshak.

Oh So Cynthia. Helmed by Cynthia Smoot, this blog is pure fun. Dedicated to events and stylish happenings around Dallas, Smoot has made a name for herself as the go-to site for gossip on all the Dallas-focused television shows, especially the juicy reality offerings like Most Eligible Dallas.
Favorite post this month: we heart Smoot's periodic feature highlighting the upcoming plans of the cities party set, dubbed "Social Snippets," and her round-up of July fourth festivities among the popular crowd was one of our favorite items. Twitter handle: @ohsocynthia.

Streets of Sparkle. Jaclyn Welch's new-ish blog is dedicated solely to fashion spotted on the streets of Dallas. Her photography is certainly strong enough to carry her content, and we are totally addicted to taking a peek at what stylish women all over the city are wearing right this second.
Favorite post this month: we were taken in by recent subject, Ty Jones, who is also a blogger. Twitter handle: @jaclynwelch.

Miles to Go. Written by one hilarious twenty-something, Taylor Bigler, we can't get enough of her anecdotes on continued growing pains thanks to lines like this: "Is it just me, or does summer start to kind of suck once you are an adult?" You definitely want to follow her adventures, trust us. And even though she currently lives in the Northeast, Bigler's blog still qualifies for our list thanks to her Texas heritage.
Favorite post this month: her piece defining and illustrating what the word "vineyarding" means. Twitter handle: @taylorcbigler.

Where Wear in the City. If you want to know what's happening socially in Dallas, we can think of no better blog. Written by sisters Allison and Courtney Edwards, the adorably girly site is dedicated to fashionable and fun events around the metroplex. Keep your eyes peeled for the Edwards around town, because just like their tag line says - you never know where you'll spot them next.
Favorite post this month: their post on jewelry line, Obsessive Compulsive Design, made us want to buy some bling. Twitter handle: @wherewearincity.

The Dallas Diva. Because she is hilarious. Seriously. The tabs within her blog have names like "The Lido Deck" and "Food and Drank," and listed topics include, "Fashy Fash." We are simply dying to encounter her in person, and while it's true that you could get info on the events she covers from numerous sources, we're certain none of them will catalog the happenings with as much color.
Favorite post this month: we enjoyed reading about the Kent Rathbun-hosted dinner in honor of Niman Ranch. Twitter handle: @thedallasdiva.

And, of course, we can't help but mention that you should all be following NBCDFW's "The Scene" on Twitter as well; check us out, @nbcdfwscene.
