Lauren Scruggs Photographed Leaving Rehabilitation

TMZ.com publishes first public photo of blogger after propeller accident

A local blogger and aspiring model was photographed one month after she was seriously injured by a moving airplane propeller.

On Wednesday, TMZ.com published a picture of Lauren Scruggs, editor of LoLo Magazine, stepping into a waiting car at a Dallas rehabiliation center.

The 23-year-old lost her left hand and left eye after she walked into the propeller after an aerial tour of Christmas lights in North Texas last month.

While the photo, the first public picture of Scruggs since the accident, shows her physical recovery is coming along, her parents' blog says she still has plenty of emotional healing to do.

Her mother wrote:

"It's hard to watch the reality face to face, even though we KNOW that God will never leave us or forsake us..."

and:

"But it doesn't change what happened, and it is just plain hard to watch Lo come to grips with the fact that she has lost her hand and lost her eye. It's hard to hear her tears."

A spokesman for the Scruggs family did not return a call for comment.
