What To Do This Father's Day Weekend

DAD LIKES TO DANCE: It seems every time the Spazmatics come to town, we have other plans, but we always recommend their '80s throwback shows to folks looking for things to do. Not only do will they get the entire Loft in Dallas singing along to New Wave hits during the 8:30 p.m. show, they'll make you feel like you're back in high school trying to decide whether Ally Sheedy or Molly Ringwald is hotter...

DAD LOVES SOME ART: Justin Bua's collection at the 4th Wall Gallery in Dallas has just been installed (look for our interview with Bua about his work -- and break dancing! -- later this week) so not only is it the hippest place to be -- it's the hip-hop-ist. Terrible jokes aside, Bua's work has been utilized by big brands like Nike, and big games like EA's NBA and NFL Street series. The exhibition runs through August 29.

DAD LOVES HIS DAUGHTER: Even on the day before Father's Day, Dad is always thinking of his little girl -- and how she loves those Jonas Brothers. Luckily for Dad, while daughter can jam with Nick, Joe, and Kevin (yes, we had to look up their first names), he can relax in the Cowboys Stadium parking lot at the hospitality tent.

DAD LIKES THOSE CHISELED PHYSIQUES: What's a more classy way to spend Father's Day than in the Nasher Sculpture Garden for a Wolfgang Puck catered brunch? While you try to figure out if there is a way to top that, we'll be making reservations for the 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. event.

DAD LOVE HIS VIDEO GAME SCORES: Sure, he's still proud of that Pac-Man machine in the student union with his initials still at the top of the high score list, but we're talking about a whole 'nother video game score here. The DSO will play selections from the score of multiple Final Fantasy games, complete with cut-scenes and images from the games. Aeris fans will be pleased to head into the Meyerson for a 7:30 p.m. concert on Sunday.
