100-Year Anniversary for Shiner

New brew to debut in January.

Shiner's 100th anniversary is next year, and to celebrate, they're releasing "Commemorator," a dopplebock/starkbier.

The "little brewery in Shiner" has been creating special beers for each year since 2005, when they released Shiner 96, an Oktoberfest lager. Shiner 97, a black lager, was so popular that the brewery continues to make it under the name Bohemian Black.

The anniversary brew, "Commemorator," follows the beer tradition of adding "ator" to the end of German beers to indicate a dopplebock brew.

Shiner expects to debut the new brew in January of 2009.
