10,000 volunteers needed for Super Bowl

The push to get an army of volunteers in place for Super Bowl XLV is in high gear.

The host committee announced Wednesday they have more than 4,000 volunteers signed up but would like to bring in as many as 10,000. Organizers said it would be the largest unpaid army in Super Bowl history.

"We're bigger here. We need more hands on deck," said Amanda Whitelaw the Volunteer Services Manager. "We had over 2,000 people sign up in the first weekend ... we're going to continue the recruitment process."

Volunteers who sign up and pass a security screening process can work in several areas. Three main areas include: working as greeters at DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field, working at local hotels as part of the Super Bowl XLV welcome desks, or at the NFL Experience, an interactive theme park put on by the NFL.

Volunteers will be required to go through a one-hour training session. In exchange for their work, volunteers will receive a jacket, T-shirt and hat, which will become their uniform in the days leading up to the game.
