Garland Labor Day Parade Kicks Off at 9 A.M.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, the Garland Jaycees will host the 66th Annual Labor Day Parade in the city.

The Parade features seven high School bands, national, state, and local politicians, community groups, pee-wee football teams and the Shriners with their many cars, motorcycles, clowns and horses.

The Garland Labor Day Parade is the largest Labor-Day Parade west of the Mississippi.

The parade begins at 5th and Walnut before turning south on 5th to Main, West on Main to Garland Road and then South on Garland Road to Ave F before the parade ends at Central Park.

In addition to the Parade, the Garland Kiwianis Club is hosting an all-u-can-eat pancake breakfast at the First United Methodist Church, located at Glenbrook and Ave. B. The pancakes will be served before, during and after the parade until 1 p.m.
