In a late-night sting, Dallas Police's Northeast Bar Patrol Division plus members of the TABC, Police, Fire, Code Enforcement, and even Mayor Tom Leppert scoured six Dallas bars and nightclubs for violations.
GG's Jazz at 5915 East Northwest Highway had the worst night, as the crowded club was forced to shut down after health officials found no hot water on the premise. The TABC also delivered two warnings to the club, one for allowing drug use on the property, and another for allowing pornography. Police officers also arrested one patron for public intoxication during the inspection.
La Primavera at 6750 Shadybrook had similar violations from the TABC, including warnings for drug use and pornography on the property. Police, however, made a bigger bust when they found a small baggie of cocaine near the bar, and arrested two patrons; one for public intoxication and one for DWI.
All six bars in the sting had at least one violation, while two, Chasers at 2932 North Buckner and The Palace Cabaret at 9125 East R.L. Thornton did not have fire inspections during the sweep, as both bars have cases pending with the city.
