7/10-11: Who Could Ask For Anything More

Man can survive on food and music alone, so you should be fine for this weekend

DENTON'S SMILING: There is no denying that Denton has a lot of bands living with in it's city limits, all playing great music, so choosing which shows to spend your money on can be daunting. Luckily for you, tonight Rubber Gloves has procured a show that just simply cannot lose. Dove Hunter, Shiny Around The Edges, and Dust Congress. Say loud and in unison. Yes, it's that good of a show. With Shiny Around The Edges just about to release their new long player Denton's Dreaming and embark on a tour with Dust Congress, this maybe your last chance to see them for less than a ten spot and a seat in the nose bleeds.

ONE MORE TIME!: Shameless self promotion. At some point in your life you've probably done it. That's why we're going to take the liberty of talking about the Taste of Dallas festival again today, of which NBCDFW is a sponsor. At Taste of Dallas, you will learn directly from the best of the best, as they provide tastings and exciting demonstrations. Always wanted to know how to make the perfect Hollandaise? How to ensure juicy flavor when you grill a steak? Want to shake hands with your culinary hero? Join us as Dallas’ top chefs bring their expertise and larger-than-life personalities to Taste of Dallas for not-to-be-missed demonstrations and tastings.

TWO MORE TIMES!: Not to push the NBCDFW sponsored Taste of Dallas too much, but food isn't the only exciting thing happening at the event this weekend. Sunday at 3:30PM on the Gilley's stage The O's help you work off all those extra calories consumed by shaking your booty to their unique sound. The O’s began one sunny afternoon in the summer of 2008 in Dallas, Texas when we, Taylor Young and John Pedigo, decided to join forces. Having known one another through each other’s bands (Polyphonic Spree, Young Heart Attack, Slick 57, Boys Named Sue, P. W. Long, and The BAcksliders) and whiskey (Jack, Johnny, Makers, etc.), the attraction was simple and their mission determined: Write and record songs; no plugs, no electrics, just music.
