12/7: Grinch, Pass the Mic and Party Crashers

A Grinchmas Musical Arrives at the Winspear Opera House

IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE GRINCHMAS: The stockings are hung, the trees are lit and just as you prepare for Ol’ Saint Nick, a legendary holiday villain pulls out his bag of tricks. The grumpiest green giant to ever exist known to all as the mean old Mr. Grinch visits the Winspear Opera House stage for his annual Christmas fix. Experience the rhyming holiday classic live and in-person as Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical opens tonight at 7:30 p.m. – if you arrive early, you might even catch a glimpse of Mr. Grinch outside the theater for the Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m.  The production runs through Dec. 12 with Stefan Karl playing the mean old holiday hater with a heart two sizes too small. Tickets are $30-$120.

PASS THE MIC: Shana Stein hosts a night full of unexpected stage jumpers at LaGrange.  If you’ve got the nerve and have something to sing about, then tonight’s the night to make it happen at the “Pass the Mic” event lasting from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.  with $2 draught beer flowing all night. The ditties and beer are free to all. If the stage makes you nervous, no worries, you can always just show up and people-watch.

PARTY CRASHESRS: Boston’s own, Sam Adams, visits Dallas tonight with a few buddies. The electro-pop rapper along with special guests dance music super duo LA Riots and the pop up-in-comers Vonnegutt take the House of Blues stage for an all out crowd surfing good time.  Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are from $13 to $25.
