12/28: New Moves

JUST DANCE: MGMT's "Electric Feel?" Maybe later. Passion Pit's "Little Secrets?" Done with that one. Even the most sublime of synthy smart-dance hits have officially begun to wear on our nerves, though it was long after the fatigue from those fantastic beats reached our bones. We introuduce Texan/New Yorker Alan Palomo and his project Neon Indian, fresh off Pitchfork's Best New Music page and behind the boards onstage at the Granada tonight for your rekindling pleasure. With Ishi, Fizzy Dino Pop, and newly christened Hailey's 80's Night reinsman DJ Yeahdef. Show at 8PM. Find tickets here.

KINGS OF HEART: If you missed the first night of Rhett Miller and the Old 97's residency at Sons of Hermann Hall, fear not: they are, indeed, playing nightly gigs through Wednesday. Still deciding if the $30 advance ticket price is worth it? We offer this homey video of the band at Good Records last year, sweetly playing "Question" as only "Question" can be played. 9PM.

STAYCATION: Hey, DFW, how does a quick jaunt to a tropical island sound? What's that? We can't hear you; your fleecy scarf is in the way. Warm up with the cast of South Pacific at the Winspear and be part of a show that's been making splashes around here for quite some time -- The Dallas Morning News' Lawson Taitte has more on an early Dallas production's lasting legacy. Find tickets here. 8PM.
