12/18-12/19: Christmas Culture Clash

Fair Park does some good, Loni Love in Arlington and a Latin holiday tradition

CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK: Come one; come all for the 12th annual Christmas in the Park event at Fair Park. For 12 years, the non-profit organization, S.M. Wright Foundation has been providing support for families and children less fortunate in the South Dallas-area. This Saturday, they host a day of gift-giving, yuletide holiday cheer from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  If you want to make some family’s Christmas wish come true, donate or volunteer by clicking here.

A LOTTA LOVE: Get on the love train to see Chelsea Lately’s regular funny lady Loni Love at the Arlington Improv on Sunday night. One of Comedy Central’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch” has the chops to take no prisionsers all for a good laugh. Catch her one-hour special “America’s Sister” on Comedy Central for a taste of what the unleashed comic has to say. Tickets are $15 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

POSADA DALLAS: The Latino Cultural Center celebrates the Latin American holiday tradition of posadas for the 7th year in a row. Posadas honor the journey Mary and Joseph took to Bethlehem. This Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. join in on the free festivities beginning with a procession along the Wilson Historic District side by side with holiday carolers, ending at the Latino Cultural Center enjoying a mariachi serenade before watching a holiday film.
