12/12-13: Deck the Halls

INSIDE JOB: A warehouse at 511 W. Commerce has been transformed into a workspace, gallery, and concert venue to host what's become one of the biggest arts events in Dallas of the year. Art Conspiracy 5 brings 150 North Texas artists together in the name of community and social change to auction pieces -- which they all completed on-site yesterday -- between sets by local bands. Ticket proceeds and sales benefit Resolana, which offers arts programs to incarcerated women in the DFW area. It's worth your while to follow all the links in Art and Seek's round-up on the event. With Telegraph Canyon, the Crash That Took Me, RTB2, and The Boom Boom Box. Tickets are $10. Saturday at 7PM.

BRAVE CHRISTMAS: Think your best piece of pecan pie this season is now behind you? We'd urge you to try Smoke's version before making a definitive decision. The upscale barbeque restaurant with the Scantron order cards and the excellent alt-country playlist is having Brave Combo over for a little Christmas party on the patio. Lest a good thing come to an end, the Denton band will be toting a live holiday record called Christmas Present for your stocking-stuffing pleasure. 7:30PM.

KISS THIS: For those who wish holiday attire included more black, more leather and maybe a little facepaint, the Double Wide changes those annoying norms. Dress as your KISS member of choice at the Dress to Kill party with DJ Bad Holly. 10PM.
