Burlesque Festival, This Will Destroy You and "Naughty at Night" Bites

BURLESQUE EXTRAVAGANZA: The boas will be twirling this weekend for the Third Annual Dallas Burlesque Festival. The main showcase takes place on Saturday night at the House of Blues where over 40 of the finest shimmying pros from around the country will don their fishnets and show off their teasing gimmicks to Dallas at 8 p.m. The tassel-filled festival kicks off Friday night with a teaser show happening at the Texas Theatre hosted by Violet O’Hara at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20.

THIS WILL DESTROY YOU: Hailing from San Marcos, Chris King, Jeremy Galindo, Donovan Jones and Alex Bhore are the men behind the instruments of This Will Destroy You. The four-man rock instrumental acts are upping the ante in 2011 with a new record titled “Tunnel Blanket” on an unknown label. Tonight, fans of the band can hear past favorites like “Quiet” but should prepare themselves for new tunes when the quartet hits the Granada Theatre at 10:20 p.m. with UME and The Boom Boom Box getting things started at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15-$20. Doors open at 7 p.m.

NAUGHTY AT NIGHT: Get “naughty” this weekend and start this Friday night right by noshing on some of Chef Blythe Beck’s wickedly delicious bites at Central 214 in Dallas. The “Naughty at Night” Happy Hour lasts from 10 p.m.-midnight and guests can dine on menu items priced from $3.00 to $8.00 including Kobe beef sliders, 214 nachos and Rocco’s Tacos which are in high demand. And of course with the meal deals comes the half price drink specials, so sip wisely.
