Wylie Girl Hopes to Be Disney's “Next Big Thing”

Another Disney superstar could be in the making in North Texas.

The music of 12-year-old Kacie Lynch was one of 11 picked from millions of entries to be featured on radiodisney.com's "Next Big Thing" contest.

"Each artist is featured for two weeks," Lynch said. "I'm featured from January 10th through the 23rd."

Fans will choose the "Next Big Thing" by voting for their favorite artist.

As a singer, actor and dancer, Lynch is a triple threat. At the tender age of 12, she already has a long resume.

Lunch has starred in several movies, commercials, talk shows and has opened for Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson.

"I got to see Willie Nelson. I was like, 'Oh, my God, he's famous,'" Lynch said.

She is also a regular cast member on the toddler favorite "Barney and Friends," the show that also launched the career of another Demi Lovato, another North Texan.

"To see what she's been able to do, especially being from Texas and her being on Barney like I am now, I am hoping to have a career like hers," Lynch said.

She said she hopes to follow in the footsteps of Disney stars such as Lovato, Selena Gomez and the Jonas brothers, who just bought a home in Westlake.

"I hope to have my own Disney channel show one day and have my own album and be able to tour and meet fans," she said.

Lynch travels back and forth from Wylie to Los Angeles. But she says she's a Texas girl and doesn't want to live in L.A.

Fans can vote for Lynch on radiodisney.com until Jan. 23 and then again from April 4 to 23. They can also here Lynch on Radio Disney (620 AM) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
