Matthew Gray Shares Solo Material In SPACE

We were pumped last week to hear that Matthew Gray was the secret artist at last week's DC9 in SPACE live taping.

There was really no way of knowing what to expect from the Matthew and the Arrogant Sea frontman's new solo project as presented live -- Gray has said members of his accompanying band will vary. Connections made through The Bee's Fifth Collective should be serving Gray with fresh collaborators aplenty, as if the prolific Denton musician needed more potential cohorts.

His new project's name itself evades any kind of predictable focus: Matthew Gray, Delves Into The Humanity Pools With The Six Foot Saucer People.

Well, the SPACE video's posted and Gray killed it with Connor Veteto on keys and Hunter Johnson on bass. The candid interview, the sunny shots, and the quality of the sound are the best they've been on the series, which is on its fourth episode with Gray and company's appeareance. The performance of "Sunspells" is so blissfully transcendent that we had to share it with you.

Check out the MP3 Gray leaked to DC9 At Night and some other songs online. Gray plays Lola's Saturday night with Robert Gomez Bosque Brown, and John Brown. Show starts at 10 p.m.
