Local Artists to Paint at Prairie Fest

Art sale benefits park

For the second year in a row, local artists are invited to paint the wildflowers at the Tandy Hills Natural Area for Prairie Fest.

The outdoor festival will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Fort Worth's Tandy Hills Park.

The event is free and open to the public.

This year there will be live music, dance, and wildflower walks, plus a unique opportunity to watch North Texas artists paint the landscape from start to finish.

More than twenty local artists are participating, including Dennis Farris, Chase Almond, and Joyce Thomas.

The artwork will be for sale in a silent auction on Saturday afternoon.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Tandy Hills.
