Granada Hosts Free SXSW Show Thursday

Can't make it to Austin for South By Southwest?  Two up-and-coming SXSW electro-rock acts from the UK will perform live, for free, in Dallas this Thursday night at the Granada Theater.

Both The Egg and 2020Soundsystem are playing Austin's legendary festival before bringing their live, electronic dance music  to DFW.

The Egg play live rocktronic and big textural-influenced dance music, using electronic and live instruments, video triggering, samples with live and vocoded vocals. Their music is influenced by everything around them and is inspired by artists such as Pink Floyd, Groove Armada, The Beloved, New Order, Underworld, and the shoegazing/nu-gazing scene.

2020Soundsystem have forged a name for themselves as one of the best new live bands from the UK. They have established themselves firmly in the festival circuit as well as building up their reputation through the world of underground clubs, dirty discos and sweaty gigs. Their debut album, 'No Order', was received with universal acclaim and earned several album of the month nods.

The Egg and 2020Soundsystem are only two of the 22 SXSW artists that are scheduled to play the Granada Theater over the next few weeks.  So, even if you can't head south this weekend -- fret not.  Plenty of talent is headed to 3524 Greenville Avenue over the next few weeks.

The doors open for Thursday's show at 8 p.m. The show is expected to start at 9 p.m.
