Britney Spears Wants You to Sit on a Stool

The singer's circus-themed show set-up features "Center Ringside Stools"

Do you think Britney Spears might be taking this whole "Circus" act a bit too far? At first it seemed like a harmless, well-intentioned jab at her unhinged image, but after ruffling PETA's feathers with her treatment of elephants in her video for "Circus" (the single), and now her, shall we say, untraditional approach to her new concert stage set-up, one has to wonder if this concept has run its course.

For "The Circus Starring Britney Spears," the pop tart's first new tour in five years, the concert set-up will include a seating system more complicated than Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme. Besides the "Official Platinum Seats," there are also "Center Ringside Seats and Stools," which include "intimate love seats and comfortable stools." Sure, because sitting on a comfortable stool for two hours plus is so much better than wasting your time on an uncomfortable perch.

And, if that's not enough to make your head spin, you can also choose from two levels of VIP experiences: "The Toxic VIP Experience Presented by the Big Apple Circus," which features one general admission VIP ticket, a pre-show party, a backstage tour, a separate VIP entrance and parking space (where available) and Spears swag; or the "In The Zone" package, which positively pales in comparison with your choice of a general admission or an "Excellent Reserved" ticket plus the aforementioned swag. For all of this special attention, you can expect to pay anywhere from $349 to $549 per person (and up, way up). Your average, run-of-the-mill tix will run you between $39 and $150, if you can get 'em.

Ms. Spears will bring her circus act to a stage near you starting in March. Tickets (yes, stools included) are on sale now.
