Storm surge climbed to 10 feet leaving behind a lot of damage and destruction to homes and businesses.

The storm is dumping rain on Georgia and the Carolinas. NBC 5’s Katy Blakey has been following its track and some of the incredible images coming into the newsroom.

The storm made landfall shortly before 11am on Tuesday near Padre Island.
