Amon Carter Museum of American Art

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art (the Carter) recently announced a partnership as big as the state of Texas.

North Texas artists Kathy Brown, Adam Fung, Olivia Garcia-Hassell, and Rebecca Shewmaker make up the 2023 class of Carter Community Artists.

“Yahvlane & Ha Įlè – Art without Borders” is on view at the AT&T Discovery District through January 8; “Speaking with Light” is on view at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art through January 22.

‘Emancipation: The Unfinished Project of Liberation’ will cover the impact of President Abraham Lincoln’s historic Emancipation Proclamation, which ordered 10 states to free slaves in the United States. It is set to open in March 2023, the 160th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation

During a year-long commitment, the four artists will work to connect patrons to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art’s collection for more in-person events
