Texan Allegedly Texted Plans to Kill Husband

A Central Texas woman charged with killing her husband allegedly had texted her plans to a friend hours before the fatal shooting.

Court records indicate Karra Trichele Allen of Bertram sent text messages to a friend threatening to shoot and dismember her spouse. The Austin American-Statesman reported Tuesday that the friend received the texts the afternoon of July 1.

The Burnet County Sheriff's Office says the body of Brian Allen was found at the couple's home that night after his wife called authorities to say she shot her spouse. A transcript indicates Karra Allen told a dispatcher she fired in self-defense during an argument.

The wife remains jailed on a murder charge with bond set at $500,000.

Details weren't immediately available on the friend who received the texts.
