Richardson Woman Gets Back Lost 1976 College Ring

House cleaning led to a Dallas-area woman getting her 1976 college class ring back.

Maureen Hamann Gresham of Richardson graduated from Longwood College, now Longwood University, in Farmville, Va., then moved to Texas. She lost her class ring the following spring.

Gresham got a replacement ring from the manufacturer, but it was never quite the same.

The Dallas Morning News reported Monday that Jake Pennington this month was helping his parents clean their house when he came across the ring. He says his mother, Perry Kelley Pennington of Hawkins, found the ring in 1978, when she lived in Carrollton, but wasn't able to locate the owner.

Jake Pennington noticed a name inscribed inside the jewelry, did an online search, located Gresham and sent her the ring.
