Naked Man Hides In Manhole

A man who fled from police in League City was found in a manhole.

Police said a naked, dehydrated man found at the bottom of a 30-foot-deep manhole allegedly had been hiding from officers after a domestic disturbance call.

League City police Sgt. John Jordan said Tuesday that Kevin Gonterman may not have realized the depth of the manhole, where searchers found him Monday.

Gonterman was gone Saturday when police went to his home over an argument with his girlfriend. She reported him missing Sunday. Police aren't sure how long Gonterman was in the manhole, with out a ladder, one-half mile away.

A spokeswoman at Memorial Hermann Hospital said Gonterman was no longer a patient Tuesday.

Jordan said no charges were filed after Saturday's incident. Nobody was hurt.
