Fleeing Driver Crashes Into Police Station

Woman hospitalized after crashing stolen truck

Authorities are assessing building damage after a woman driving a reported stolen truck crashed into a West Texas police station.

San Angelo police Lt. David Howard says Amanda Jeffreys of Manor was hospitalized Friday in serious condition.

Howard says the 24-year-old woman will be taken into custody when she's released and charged with felony evading arrest and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police were responding to a vehicle theft at a convenience store around 8 p.m. Wednesday when the chase began. The pickup hit the police station in an area where the administrative offices are located.

Howard says there were no other injuries because the offices were closed. The building sustained more than $100,000 in damage.
