Bank Robber Attempts Escape, Gets 52 Months in Jail

A Dallas bank robber has been sentenced to 52 months in federal prison for robbing a bank and attempting to escape custody.

Kenslesl Ambca Williams was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David C. Godbey on Monday.

Williams robbed a Prosperity Bank location on West Kiest Boulevard in Dallas on Jan. 4, 2012. Later that day, he was arrested after court documents say he was trying to "exchange the dye-stained cash for clean, unmarked money."

The following day, Williams made his first court appearance in federal court in Dallas. After the judge made an order to detain Williams during the pending bank robbery charge, Williams ran from the courtroom to attempt escape from custody. He was caught in the hallway.
