Zack Martin on La'el Collins: “He's Been Awesome This Offseason”

Collins is entering his second NFL season

This time last year, Cowboys right guard Zack Martin was preparing for his second pro season and noticing that his level of comfort as an NFL player was night-and-day from where it was as a rookie, when he didn’t have the benefit of having gone through an NFL offseason before.

Martin sees second-year left guard La’el Collins enjoying that new level of comfort this year.

"Oh, so much better," Martin said, per the Dallas Morning News. "You can already see it with [Collins]. He's been awesome this offseason. You can just tell he's more comfortable. He has a great feeling for what's going on, really coming to work every day. So, we're excited to get everyone together."

After signing as an undrafted free agent just after the draft last year, Collins began the season as the backup to Ronald Leary. But by the end of the season, Collins had taken over the starting job, where it looks like he’ll stay awhile.
