Witten, Cowboys Campaigning For Rangers' Young

Fans will have until 3 PM today to vote Texas Rangers' third baseman Michael Young into the MLB All-Star Game, which will be played Tuesday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Young is fourth among five American Leaguers vying for the last spot on the team, but his supporters are many around DFW.

This number now includes the Dallas Cowboys, who are making a late push for Young.

The Cowboys are appealing to fans through emails and social media outlets, encouraging them to vote on the Rangers' veteran before the deadline.

Five-time Pro Bowler Jason Witten in particular has taken up the cause.

"Michael needs every fan’s vote to go to the All-Star Game,” said Witten in a release. “He’s not only having another great year, but he’s also the American League’s lucky charm. Mike’s been an All-Star the last six years, and the A.L. has won all of those games. Let’s help him go back.

"Vote often before Thursday’s deadline.”

Fans who wish to vote online at texasrangers.com/allstar will be automatically registered for ticket discounts and a sweepstakes.
