The Texas Rangers famously have a Super Bowl winning quarterback coming to spring training on what seems to be an annual basis now in the form of Russell Wilson, who they selected in the Rule 5 Draft a couple of years ago.
Wilson still says, even if it's not realistic, that he would like to play in the majors someday as a second baseman.
Before Jameis Winston was the Jameis Winston, before he was winning the Heisman Trophy, before he was the NFL's No. 1 draft pick and before he was a household name, Winston was a Texas Rangers draft pick as a 15th-round pick in 2012.
Winston is now eligible to re-enter the MLB draft this summer, but any team picking him would apparently be doing so just as a stunt.
That's because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who selected him No. 1 overall on Thursday night, have apparently put a clause in Winston's contract that says he can't play pro baseball, according to TheMMQB.com.
Winston was a relief pitcher in college for Florida State, a nationally ranked program, and has expressed interest in playing professional baseball along with being an NFL quarterback.
