New Dallas Cowboy Alfred Morris is determined to get his money's worth out of his car.
Both dollars he spent on it.
Morris, the former Washington Redskins running back who signed with the Cowboys after the 2015 season, has been driving the same 1991 Mazda 626 he bought from his pastor for $2 while at Florida Atlantic University.
"I still drive 'Bentley,' which is what I call my car even though she’s not really a Bentley," told 5 Points Blue's Kristi Scales. It’s always going to be my baby and I’m going to drive it until she dies."
Morris has earned more than $3 million in his four-year career and he could earn up to $5.5 million over the next two years with the team. But the car comes with a story and an important reminder for himself about where he came from.
“I grew up in not the best of situations, so I wasn’t fortunate enough to get a car at graduation,” Morris "It just reminds me of what it took to get to where I am today—a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication, a lot of sacrifice," told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Charean Williams. "It reminds me of my struggles to get here."
Morris said he could use some of his millions of dollars to rent a car to prevent Bentley from being damaged by Texas weather.

"All the rain storms for the past couple of weeks, I’m like, ‘Man, I don’t want my car to get in an accident!'" he said. "So I’m thinking of finding something else temporarily."
Morris came to the Cowboys as a free agent this offseason after four years in Washington, in which he posted 4,713 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns.
