Who's On, Who's Not?: June 1

In a weekly staple, we'll discuss who's in a groove and who's in a rut for the Texas Rangers.

Who's On?

Catchers — Bobby Wilson has been on fire since rejoining the Rangers a few weesk ago after being traded away to Detroit for Bryan Holaday. Oh, and Holaday has done well as Wilson's backup, too. Weird deal, I know, but it's been very productive. As a duo in the past six games, they're hitting 11-for-21 (.524) and both have an OPS well over 1.000.

Adrian Beltre — It's good to see him getting hot again, and he's definitely done that after a cold snap. Beltre is batting .375 with two homers and six RBIs in his last six games.

Yu Darvish — It feels so nice to type that name. Darvish fanned seven and walked one in five innings of work while allowing just one run in his return from Tommy John surgery on Saturday against the Pirates. It was a thing of beauty.

Who's Not?

Cole Hamels — In a rare stinker, Hamels was bad his last time out. In a loss to Pittsburgh — his first loss in Arlington — Hamels allowed six runs (five earned) in 4 2/3 innings. Everyone's entitled a bad start from time to time, and it'd been a long while since Hamels had one.

Prince Fielder — Despite some positives in recent games, Fielder is still in a massive struggle. In the last six games, he's hitting just .167 with a .231 on-base percentage and .606 OPS. Those aren't the numbers the Rangers need or expect from Fielder.
