In a weekly staple, we'll discuss who's in a groove and who's in a rut for the Texas Rangers.
Who's On?
Adrian Beltre — It's no surprise to see Beltre's name here. He was named Rangers player of the month for June after having the best month of his career in terms of batting average, hitting .392 in June. Now, he's keeping it up into July. Over the past seven games, he's hitting .455 with a homer and a club-high six RBIs.
Robinson Chirinos — It's going to be tough for Geovany Soto to take his starting catcher job back from Chirinos, who's been awesome behind the plate this season and is hitting .438 with a homer over his last five games.
Shin-Soo Choo — After an extended slump, it appears Choo is starting to get it back together at the plate. In the last seven games, the on-base machine is starting to actually hit again, batting .310 with two doubles, but he somehow has managed no walks in that time.
Who's Off?
Alex Rios — The guy who, for much of the season, was the Rangers' best or second-best hitter is struggling at the moment. He's now just 3-for-23 with a run and an RBI in his last six games.

Joakim Soria — Maybe it was a World Cup hangover and watching his native Mexico drop a heartbreaker to the Dutch, but Soria has been awful in the last week. In his previous two outings, the Rangers' closer has allowed four earned runs (five total) and has allowed five hits with an 18.00 ERA.
