Who's On, Who's Not?: April 23

In a weekly staple, we'll discuss who's in a groove and who's in a rut for the Texas Rangers.

Who's On?

Alex Rios — After slumping last week, Rios is back on track. Over the last seven games, he's hit a robust .400 with three doubles and three RBIs.

Leonys Martin — See above. Martin has been on a bit of a rollercoaster early this year, but he's had much more good than bad early on. Over the past seven games, the second-year starter is hitting .391 with a homer, a double and two triples. He also is tied with Kevin Kouzmanoff for the club lead with five RBIs over that time span while leading the team with three stolen bases.

Martin Perez — Perez takes the hill on Wednesday afternoon riding a 17-inning scoreless streak.

Who's Off?

Robbie Ross Jr. — The converted reliever had his worst start of the season on Easter Sunday, allowing seven runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Hector Noesi — In that same game, Noesi had one of the worst outings in Rangers history. He allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits in just three innings of relief work, turning a somewhat close game into a rout. He was promptly designated for assignment.
