The University of Texas at Dallas' collegiate chess team finished second Sunday at the Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship, qualifying it for the 19th annual President's Cup tournament in April.
It's the UT Dallas Comets' 16th trip to the tournament, which is considered the "final four" of collegiate chess.
