Tyler Seguin Ruled Out for Game 7

Seguin's only action in these playoffs came in Game 2 of the first round

All-Star center Tyler Seguin will not play in the Stars’ Game 7 matchup with the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night in Dallas, coach Lindy Ruff said Tuesday.

"He's not available to play right now," Ruff said, per Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. "I'm not going to try to deceive you, he's not ready to play yet. He's just hit his next step on the way back again. He's closer than he was a couple of days ago."

Seguin skated in practice on Tuesday—that “next step on the way back—which might have inspired some hope on the part of fans, but Ruff said he’s still got a ways to go on the road to recovery from a lower body injury.

At first, it was thought the current injury was related to the cut achilles Seguin suffered in the regular season, but Ruff now says the achilles is healed. The injury he’s dealing with now was suffered in Game 2 against the Wild, Seguin’s only playoff action to this point.

"He's been ramping up the skating again and it's just all part of the process," Ruff said. "That's a good sign, that's a real good sign for us. It's just another step in his process."
