The Dallas Cowboys have contacted teams as they tried to work a trade for Cowboys Safety Roy Williams according to FOXSports.com.
The NFL's free agency period begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
The five-time Pro Bowl player is entering his eighth season in the NFL.
FOX reports if a deal can't be reached, the Cowboys could release Williams to clear salary cap space.
Williams played in only three games last season after suffering a broken arm.
The 28 year old safety is set to earn $4.4 million dollars in 2009.
