Tony Romo Will Undergo MRI

Romo tweaked his back in the fourth quarter of the Week 16 win over the Redskins

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will undergo an MRI on his back on Monday, but owner and general manager Jerry Jones doesn’t believe it’s anything serious--he wouldn’t even call it an “injury,” actually--and fully expects Romo to be fine for next Sunday’s winner-take-all matchup with the Eagles at AT&T Stadium.

We think it will be OK,” Jones said, adding that the injury isn’t related to the cyst removal surgery Romo underwent in the offseason, per the Dallas Morning News. “But it was a tightening. It wasn’t a contusion. It was a little tightening there. But we will work on that all week. ... He’s kind of getting some special treatment for it. It didn’t keep him from playing and won’t keep him from playing.”

Romo, who tweaked the back while attempting to avoid a fourth quarter sack, doesn’t sound overly concerned about it, either.

“You just play through it,” Romo said. “It’s football.”
