T.O. Claims Jason Garrett Leaked Story About Him in 2008

Owens has never run out of things to say about the way his brief time in Dallas came to an end

Terrell Owens has never run out of things to say about the unceremonious way his time in Dallas came to an end, so when the future Hall of Famer joined 1310-AM The Ticket’s TicketStock last weekend, it wasn’t a shock that the subject eventually turned to his abrupt release following the 2008 season.

Even all this time later, Owens maintains that Jason Garrett leaked a story to the press, which had Owens being envious of Tony Romo’s on-field relationship with Jason Witten.

“Once I got to Dallas, I felt like I had matured a little bit, I wanted to communicate with my head coaches, so if there was anything internal going on, we talked about it, even as a receiver group, whatever is said in that room, stays in that room,” Owens said, per the Dallas Morning News.

“There were some things that were leaked out that were supposed to be in house from meetings that myself, Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton had with Jason Garrett. It just so happened, of the four of us—and maybe five of us with coach [Ray] Sherman—knowing about that meeting, things got leaked. That's a shame because, of those four guys, outside of Garrett, I'll put my life on it that none of them said anything.”
