The Picks: Cowboys at Colts

It’s that time of week. Time to man up and make your pick for this week’s game. Get it right, and you’ll have enough money to bribe FIFA into holding the 2026 World Cup at your uncle’s house. Can one acre of land in Pennsylvania accommodate a dozen stadia and millions of fans from around the globe? Hey, if Qatar can do it, you can too! Here we go:

Peter King: Colts 30, Cowboys 27. “Can't see Peyton Manning playing poorly here.” Really? Because I saw him play poorly in that exact spot not but one week ago. And man, he REALLY played poorly! He threw pick sixes and everything. It was almost enough to make Collinsworth actually point it out (though he refrained).

Five of Ten ESPN Experts: Cowboys. Look at them! Goin’ out on the limb! Only took them 12 weeks to grow some onions.

Michael Silver: Cowboys.

87% Of Yahoo! Users: Colts.

Pete Prisco (CBS): Colts.

Andy (Cowboys fan I know): Cowboys 41, Colts 17. (“Kick them while they’re down! Kick them while they’re down I say! NO MERCY!”)

Index Card I Threw Up In The Air With The Name Of Each Team On Either Side, Seeing Which Team Would Land Face Up: Colts (Index Card record: 7-4)

The Wife: Colts.

Me: The Cowboys were ever so close to beating the champs last week, and now they’ve had 10 days to prep for a Colts team that seems to be staggering to the end of the season. The Colts can’t run. They can’t stop the run. They can’t stay healthy. They almost look mortal! The problem is, when the Colts start to look mortal, that’s when they decide to beat the stuffing out of you. I’ve seen Manning do it too many times to count. I won’t fully believe the Colts are dead until I see them lying in a grave with fresh dirt dumped on top of them. And even then, I’d still hang out by the grave with a revolver for a week, just to make sure. COLTS 20, COWBOYS 15.
