Things haven't gone too well for Nick Tepesch lately.
Last week in The Bronx, he entered in relief in the 14th inning of a 1-1 game and promptly gave up the winning run, forcing him to be pushed back a day in his next start against Oakland, which also didn't go too well as Tepesch left the game early with knee soreness.
Now, he's being scratched from his scheduled Friday start in Cleveland. The move seems to be nothing more than precautionary at a time when the team can afford to not put its best foot forward for the sake of preserving a young starter with hopes of being a part of the 2015 rotation.

That means Jerome Williams, who made his Rangers debut last Friday against Oakland and earned the win, will start Friday for the Rangers in Cleveland.
“I’m not going to rush him back," Ron Washington told reporters. "It’s not going to hurt him to miss this turn. We will give Williams another shot and expect Tepesch back for his next start.”
Tepesch's next scheduled start, which he hopes to make, would be Aug. 6 in Chicago against the White Sox.
