TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes has been named to The Sporting News' Midseason All-America Team.
Hughes tops the nation with 11 sacks and is tied for the top spot with 4 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.
His 14 tackles for a loss are tied for second.
The junior from Sugarland also has 2 interceptions, including 1 returned for a TD.
Hughes was named the National Defensive Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America/Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
