TCU Basketball Ranked No. 23 in Latest AP Top 25 Poll

While the TCU football team spends the week getting ready for the Big 12 title game against Oklahoma on Saturday in Arlington, the men’s basketball team is flying under the radar and has now landed in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Horned Frogs are in the No. 23 spot, their first AP Top 25 ranking since December 2014. TCU is one of five Big 12 schools in the latest poll, joining No. 2 Kansas, No. 16 Baylor, No. 19 West Virginia and No.22 Texas Tech.

TCU is 6-0 on the season and just won the Emerald Coast Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. They have the nation’s longest current winning streak in the nation, having won 11 straight dating back to last season.

The Frogs will have a chance for a signature win next week when they face SMU in Fort Worth. The Mustangs are possibly the toughest non-conference opponent on TCU’s schedule. SMU is 5-2 but have a win over then No. 2 Arizona during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The Wildcats fell out of the latest poll.

Duke was the unanimous No.1. Michigan State, Villanova, and Notre Dame round out the top five.

The Frogs begin a three-game homestand on Wednesday when they host Belmont at 8 p.m.
