Stephen Jones: “All the Pieces Are in Place” for Cowboys' Run Game

The Cowboys are returning all five starting offensive linemen in 2015

The Dallas Cowboys’ “We’re totally content at the running back position” media tour, which has made unexpected stops throughout this offseason, rolls on.

In fairness, the Cowboys’ have backed up their stance by not making any drastic moves as we move closer to the regular season opener against the Giants--just as they stood pat, aside from the not-very-splashy addition of Darren McFadden, in free agency and the draft.

They did add former Seahawk Christine Michael to the roster this week, but with just 52 career carries in two seasons, he remains something of a question mark for now.

But the confidence remains high at Valley Ranch, due in great part to the offensive line. Executive vice president Stephen Jones told the New School show on 105.3-FM The Fan that he expects the running game to be as good “if not better than we had last year,” in 2015.

I think all the pieces are there,” Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. “We’ve got our entire offensive line back from last year. With La’el Collins and that crew, Chaz Green will ultimately be coming off the PUP in six weeks, so we’ve certainly improved with young players there. And then guys like [Mackenzy] Bernadeau and [Darrion] Weems and [Jordan] Mills, who we just claimed, are all set for work. We like what we got there in the offensive line. We like our running backs.”
