Southlake Drops Out of Football Poll

First time Dragons out in 6 years

For the first time in six years, the Southlake Carroll Dragons have dropped out of The Associated Press Texas high school football poll.

The Dragons finished outside the Class 5A top 10 for the first time since October 2002 after losing last Friday to Lewisville Hebron, 42-28.

Carroll's now 6-2.

The Dragons won four state titles in five seasons from 2002 through 2006.

Carroll's postseason hopes look OK, though.

A victory this week against Lewisville, which is winless in District 6-5A, will put the Dragons back in the playoffs.
