Seguin Says He Can't Imagine Missing Game 1 of the Playoffs

Tyler Seguin is out for 3-4 weeks with a cut Achilles

Nothing is set in stone yet where Tyler Seguin’s return from a cut Achilles tendon is concerned, but the All-Star forward says he can’t imagine sitting out when the Stars open the playoffs next month.

"We haven't talked about goals much, but I can't really picture myself missing Game 1," Seguin said, per Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. "If I can come back for the last game of the regular season, that would be quite the goal for me. But there's a long way to go before then, so I'm looking forward to getting better."

Seguin cut the Achilles in the Stars’ 4-3 win over the Lightning on Thursday night, and was originally given a timetable of 3-4 weeks. That puts his return right around the end of the regular season and the beginning of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

But all things considered, Seguin is optimistic about his return.

"I spent the night in the hospital and they told me it was kind of unlucky, but pretty lucky too," Seguin said.
