Seguin Out for Game 5

Tyler Seguin is dealing with an injury related to the achilles injury that ended his regular season early

Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin has already been ruled out for the team’s Game 5 matchup with the Minnesota Wild on Friday, as he continues to rehab an injury related to the achilles injury that kept him out for most of the final month of the regular season.

Lindy Ruff announced the news on Thursday, the same day the Stars took a 3-1 series lead and put themselves in position to clinch at the American Airlines Center on Friday.

Seguin played in Game 2 for the first time since suffering the cut achilles in mid-March, but looked not quite like himself. He hasn’t played since.

Ruff suggested after that game that Seguin had suffered a setback related to the achilles injury, but that it wasn’t the achilles injury itself that was keeping him out.

Not his injury,” Ruff said, per the Dallas Morning News, “but this is kind of related and might be kind of a fallout of all of the sudden playing at a high pace.”
