Sean Lee Joins 11-on-11 Work, Wants to Play in Preseason Opener

Lee participated in 11-on-11 drills this weekend for the first time in training camp

Dallas Cowboys weakside linebacker Sean Lee was riding high this weekend after participating in 11-on-11 drills for the first time in training camp 2015, a significant step in his full-time return from the torn ACL he suffered over a year ago in OTAs.

Since that injury, of course, the team has been understandably cautious in their handling of Lee.

“They’re managing the load, and they’re trying to progress me a certain way,” Lee said, per the Dallas Morning News. “But I’ve felt great the whole time. Every time, I’ve done something, I’ve felt great. I felt great today. And I expect to feel great going forward…The only way to get better in football is playing it at a certain intensity level. That’s why I need to be in there. I need to improve. I haven’t played football in a long time. So this was a nice first step.”

Lee felt so good on Sunday, he offered that he’d like to see some action in the preseason opener against the Chargers on Thursday.

“But that’s not up to me," Lee said.
