Being the first true freshman to start at cornerback for Florida State since Deion Sanders should tell you all you need to know about Jalen Ramsey's potential. The former 5-star recruit spent three seasons making plays in many different ways for the Seminoles. He finished his career with 22 passes defended, 15.5 TFL, 5 sacks and 3 interceptions in 45 games.

After starting his career as a cornerback, Ramsey he saw significant time at nearly every position in the secondary. Outside cornerback, slot cornerback, safety...he was effective in every role for the Seminoles. That versatility is one of many qualities that will make him attractive to NFL teams.

Sweet 16, Elite 8 games will mean big bucks for Dallas

• Great Instincts - Quickly diagnoses plays
• Fast - Good closing, recovery speed
• Efficient Feet - Little wasted motion
• Good in Coverage - Good in press, bail, man, zone, etc.
• Technical - Good backpedal, plant/drive, hand use
• Willing Run Defender - Seems eager to hit RBs
• Physical - Plays like a Seattle DB
• Versatile - Will excel in any role in NFL secondary

Weaknesses

• Overly Aggressive - Susceptible to double moves
• Ballhawk? - Only 3 INTs in 45 games
• Struggles With Crossers - Could suggest slow change of direction
• Tackling Issues - Technique breaks down at times

Verdict: First-Round Pick

Watching Ramsey is like watching a young Ed Reed who can play cornerback. I think his best role will be something close to what Tyrann Mathieu does for the Arizona Cardinals or what Charles Woodson did for Green Bay.

The Cowboys selected a safety/slot cornerback hybrid in the first round last year with Byron Jones. But when you factor in player potential, scheme fit and team need, Jalen Ramsey might be the best player available for Dallas to pick at No. 4.
