Tim Williams was Louisiana's top-rated player in his class out of high school in Baton Rouge in 2012. The 4-star defender went across the border to Tuscaloosa, committing to Alabama. He was mainly a rotational player during his first two years from Baton Rouge, earning 1.5 sacks in 19 games.
Williams became a starter in his junior season and he opened some eyes with his production. In 2015, he notched 10.5 sacks and 12.5 TFL. He returned for his senior season and put up similar production, finishing with 8.5 sacks, 15.5 TFL and 12 QB hurries on his way to a second-team All-America selection.

Verdict: First Round
Williams split time as a stand-up outside linebacker and a defensive end with his hand in the dirt for the Crimson Tide and that versatility will translate to the NFL. If you're looking for a pass rusher, Williams is in the discussion for the best one in this draft not named Myles Garrett. His combination of burst, strength and hand usage give him the traits to be selected in the first round of the draft.
The Cowboys need a terror off the edge and Williams fits the bill. The team might be gun shy on edge rushers with character concerns after Greg Hardy and Randy Gregory, but his talent is definitely worthy of their first pick. If he checks out off the field, he could provide the team with a Bruce Irvin-like defender.
